INFORMATION

With the purpose of providing you with the best service, there is a department at Hospital San Javier to assist international patients.

Below is useful information for foreign patients who come to the hospital.

REGISTRATION

As you enter the Hospital you must check in at the emergencies area or the admissions department.

DOCUMENTS

At registration you must show the following documents:
Official ID card
Insurance ID (valid) or copy of policy cover page, and:
Sign the Hospital’s Contract of Acceptance
Pay a deposit if required

LETTER OF AUTHORIZATION

If you have a valid authorization letter you are required to deliver it upon registration.

 AFTER REGISTRATION

Once you have checked in, you are required to:
Ask for the insurance forms at the admissions area or the emergency area
Complete the form Contact in Case of Accident or Disease as soon as possible and
submit it with the insurance office or the insurance module.

MEDICAL REPORT FORM

When you receive the physician’s report form from your insurance company, you are required to deliver it to your physician and make sure that your information is correct.

If care is provided by several specialists, please ask that each of them delivers your medical report in time and manner, because if you don’t want your payment to be by way of reimbursement, it is important that said reports be delivered within the first 48 hours of your admission for the authorization to be applicable, otherwise, the bill will be paid by way of reimbursement, and the balance must be paid by the patient, physician’s fees included, and you would then file for reimbursement directly with the insurance company.

DISCHARGE AND FILE

When you are discharged it is important that you verify that the discharge document has been signed by a physician at the nursing station, and check at the insurance office that your file is complete.

EXIT

When the above procedure is in progress, you must wait in your room until the cash office informs you that your bill is ready.

 DISCHARGE PROCEDURE

Once you receive the discharge document, the procedure is as follows:
The Nursing Station will send the required information for the Department of Supplies to close your bill.
Once your bill is closed, the bill will be reviewed with your insurance company for approval and discharge.
The Insurance Department will get a reply from the insurance company with discharge conditions.
This information is submitted to the cash office for your prompt discharge.
Average time is one hour and a half; provided, however, that you have submitted the above information in time and manner. Finally, your insurance company determines and provides the final authorization, so the review time will depend on said information.
For information on the Medical Directory for the Staff at San Javier, our operators will be happy to assist you at any of our 3 hospital facilities.

Expenses to be paid by the insured:

Deductible: This an initial amount to be paid by the insured for every disease or event covered in the policy. This a fixed sum specified by the insurance company, based on the minimum wage in force in Mexico City.

Coinsurance: This is a percentage to be paid by the insured on the total expenses covered by the policy once the deductible has been subtracted.

Expenses not included Some expenses are not covered by some policies, such as:

  • Personal items or services

  • Telephone calls

  • Procedures or supplies not linked to the authorized condition

We recommend that you review the policy coverage and conditions and any exclusion specified therein.

Physicians under the agreement with the insurance company:

For medical fees incurred to be covered by a policy the insured must check that the treating physician is listed in the agreement with the insurance company.

In the event a patient enters the hospital for an emergency, a physician will be assigned thereto from the patient’s insurance company network.
